Liquid eyeshadow how to apply

Liquid shadows are one of the most important attributes in the makeup artist's arsenal. The shadows look great and apply well. But do not get carried away with liquid shadows for older women: mother-of-pearl particles will make the makeup shimmer and emphasize the shape of the eyes along with wrinkles. Consider below how to apply liquid shadows correctly.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros of liquid shadows:

  1. Persistence. Liquid shadows do not crumble, and waterproof ones do not wash off. The composition of the shadows includes glycerin, high-quality alcohol, dry pigments, vegetable wax and unsaturated acids. The whole cocktail of components helps to keep makeup for a long time.
  2. Brightness and wide color gamut. The color of the shadows does not fade. And the palette of shades begins with transparent colors and ends with dazzling bright.
  3. Suitable for any weather. In the cold, liquid shadows do not roll, and in the heat they do not spread.
  4. Eyelid skin care. Thanks to moisturizing ingredients, glycerin, soluble vitamins and an acid complex, the skin remains fresh, soft and supple.

Cons of liquid shadows:

  1. Shadows dry too fast.
  2. It is difficult to determine how the color will look on the eyelid before application.
  3. Poor-quality shadows roll, gather in the corners of the eyes.

When choosing the color of the shadows, follow these rules:

  • Too dark colors are not suitable for light skin types. Dark shades will give the skin around the eyes an unhealthy look and emphasize fine wrinkles.
  • Shadows that are too light for your skin will flatten your face.
  • For daytime makeup, use light shades, for evening makeup - bright and saturated.

Feel free to experiment with eyeshadow colors. The main thing is not to look vulgar or too dull.
