The basis of the greenhouse is its frame. Purchase a ready-made frame or assemble it yourself. To bend a profile pipe for a greenhouse, it is enough to have a single tool - a pipe bender. The need for profile bending becomes especially obvious when it comes to the year-round version of the arched version of the greenhouse, equipped with a heating function.

How to make an arc for a greenhouse with your own hands? In the matter of making the frame, many summer residents prefer such material as aluminum. It is characterized by durability, reliability, unpretentiousness in service. The aluminum frame can be easily assembled and fixed with your own hands.

In order to ensure the rapid descent of snow and other precipitation from the roof of the greenhouse, it is made of one or two slopes. The frame of the greenhouse is performed:

How to bend a profile for a greenhouse with your own hands? You can bend the pipe on a special machine. It is rotated with a special handle. If there is no opportunity to work on the machine, you can use two pipes. They are placed in parallel, fixed in advance with each other. On the site, an arc is drawn with an appropriate radius. A curved element is applied to the arc and bent so that the original absolutely coincides with the prepared drawing. The second arc is bent in a similar way. You can achieve the desired result without additional heating.

To give the pipe the desired radius, it is pre-divided into several equal intervals. At these points, the metal is filed with a grinder in order to bend according to the existing template. At the cut points, the metal is processed with a welding machine to give the structure the necessary rigidity. The principle of operation is simple, and a non-professional can cope with the task. The greenhouse profile is characterized by low weight and increased strength, therefore it can withstand significant transverse loads.


Construction assembly

Before bending the profile for the greenhouse with your own hands, you should prepare for the laborious operation. In the field, you can bend the profile for the greenhouse by heating with an open flame. For this purpose, a propane cutter, or a blowtorch, is suitable. After heating one part, the metal of the arc for the greenhouse is knocked down at an angle using a lever. The main disadvantage of this method is the need for considerable effort. At the end of processing, the metal gets an unaesthetic appearance.

The method of processing on a pipe bending machine allows you to get a better result. The metal takes the desired diameter faster, and outwardly the pipe looks more neat. The metal is pulled through the machine using handles. One roller should be under the pipe, and the second should press on the metal in order to deform. The metal passes through the machine, resulting in an arch of a given radius. Such a device allows you to get a bend at angles from 30 to 180 degrees. Most often, the greenhouse profile is processed on a manual machine when it is necessary to ensure heating of the greenhouse in cold weather or create conditions for the installation of ventilation equipment.

The use of homemade pipe benders

In order to build home-made machines, it is enough to have two pipes with a diameter of 70-150 mm. They are fixed in the slab with a concrete solution. There is another method of fastening - welding to the surface of the channel. For the method to work, a distance of 600 mm is maintained between the pipes. The pipe is fixed between the racks, and then a bend is made.

It is important to make sure that each roller is placed on the axles. One roller should be located at the same level as the adjacent one. A distance of about 50 cm is maintained between them. The last roller is installed in the center and raised above the plane by 100 mm. This method is quite simple and involves adjusting the bend radius of the pipe by raising the roller on a jack.

If it is necessary to bend a thin-walled tube, then it makes sense to fill one end of it with sand. Only after that the product is placed in the machine. At the end of the operation, the sand must be removed. The method is pretty simple. It is only necessary to ensure that the pipe has a constant diameter along its entire length.


Square profile processing

Even a cursory glance will allow you to find the differences between the profile of a round and square section. When processing products of square section, manual bending machines are used. To create a smooth bend of the product, on the one hand it is covered with sand and clogged with a cork.

In order for the bend to be as accurate as possible, machines with an emphasis are used. Square profiles have a side of 14-16 mm, and the wall thickness of the pipe can reach 5 mm. The principle of operation on the machine is simple, and anyone can understand it. To obtain the most smooth radius at the bend, the metal is preheated.

If you are assembling a frame for a copper greenhouse in winter, then a bend can be obtained by filling the profile with heated water. Similar to the previous technology, one end of the profile is covered with sand and plugged with a cork.

As you can see, when working with any frame material, the principle of bending is quite simple. It is enough to have a minimum set of tools and limited knowledge.
