Hello everyone!

Today we are visiting our old friends, like-minded people and just good people - Tanya and Vanya. We decided to paint them with questions and discharge the invaluable experience in the formation of two traveler freelancers.

After all, each heard or read real story About how people embody their dreams bringing us to understanding themselves - everything is possible and everything in our hands.

And now I propose to get a comfortable, pour a seagull and get to know a closer look at two very creative and very bold people.

1. A little about yourself. What are you doing now and what they did before the start of the wanders?

T.: I am doing psychological consulting , graphology and photo , and periodically appear and disappear different hobbies and projects. Before the start of the wanders, I tried myself in many areas of activity - and was engaged in design, and illustrations, and Handmade, and writing articles, worked as a psychologist in the State institution and the administrator in the photo studio. In our first semi-annual travel, I earned a photo (in place) and design (on the freelanse, remotely), as well as painted pictures for one child site. Later went to the photo, and then in psychology - its main specialty.

IN: I am doing now music (I write, speaking) and the manufacture of exotic musical instruments, hapi Drum..
Prior to that, he worked as a programmer in the office, after - a web designer on freelancing and remotely.

2. How did it all start? What did you come to travel?

T: We do not love winter :)
I personally most inspired your example with the example. I worked as an administrator in a photo studio when you went to your first semi-annual journey. Blog records about palm trees, the sea and sunny India were for me a sip of fresh air, freedom, adventure.

I was looking forward to every new post and hatched plans for the next winter, especially after our short "trial" rest in Goa. In parallel I read the stories of the same travelers - more precisely, travelevers. Adequate name for such a way to live, it seems that there is still no :) Also He supported his intention and received a portion of inspiration from the book "Downshifting" Sophia Makeeva. Then - the transition to Freilance and ...

IN: Once in the winter I took a vacation, and we bought a 14-day tour in Goa. It was our first overseas journey, not counting Belarus and Ukraine.

And in Goa, at that time, our friends were winning at that time - in fact, you are with a sip =) You did not let us be bored, helped to remove the scooter and took away from the boring Kandolim into a cheerful Arabol, in which we immediately fell in love. Actually, you have become our travel guru, an example for imitation and inspirers, not less =)

Returning, I could no longer live as before. After a while, I quit my job and wished that we spent the next winter in India. By the way, I was so inspired by the example of the village that I also began to engage in the creation of sites and web design, began to try myself in freelance.

3. What were the difficulties in preparing and at the beginning of the road?

T.: It was necessary to solve questions with housing, work and calm parents :) Well, I could not believe it all until the end, while our plane did not touch the landing strip at Delhi airport. However, everything collapsed quickly and well - the universe always knows how best;)

IN: Following the example of seeds, inspired me on travel and freelance, I began to make sites. More precisely, try to do them. At the beginning it was very hard, the money brought little money, there was no experience, and Lena was strong =)
But nevertheless, by the time of the first independent long-term trip, I managed to work in this way six months. But still it was a jump in the unknown.

4. Impressions from the start of travel. From the first country where they arrived.

T: The first country is India. Everything was new and very unusual: people, streets, houses, nature, odors, food, customs. In general, everything!

IN: The first country was India .. Mama-India =) Actually, we have already been in this wonderful and controversial country, but only in Goa and two weeks. And then we flew to Delhi .. It is understood that this can only a person who was there =) if one word is chaos. And of course, from the very first minutes, all the oncoming "helpers", starting with a taxi driver, tried to breed money with the most amazing and unpredictable ways. But we did not succumb. When we were the most terrible in the entire history of our travels of 6 hours in the local-bass, packed to the failure of Indians, constantly something tasty and throwing garbage to themselves and in the window.

Only coming to Pushkar and having met our experienced friends Ksu and Some, we finally could relax. Well, then everything was fine =)

5. Where did you come after that? Where did you like best? Where do you want to return?

T.: We traveled half India, including on their motorcycle, were in Nepal, lived in different parts of Thailand. In Indonesia (on Bali), they spent a couple of days in Malaysia, they looked out in Singapore :) In Russia, they also went a lot of both to semi-annual travels and after.

I somehow have been completely atypically for myself in Turkey, Egypt, a day in Israel and Palestine, and a day in Jordan.
Not many countries so far, but with a rather deep immersion in some :)

I like everywhere where we are. I was pleased to return to Bali, in Pai (Thailand), and I would love to live with pleasure even once in Dharamsale in the north of India, and in Pokhara (Nepal). Well, of course, the Arabol in Goa is the second home.
And at the same time I understand that so much unexplored, but not yet it turns out to cover everything.

IN: In my personal ranking in the first place is always arabole (Goa), I have not met more native place. I love Pai, that in Thailand, Dharamsalu in the north of India, I love to periodically call for a few days in Rishikesh, Pushkar, Udaipur. Pokhara (Nepal), Ubud (Bali).

6. How did you choose new travel places?

T.: Places chose spontaneously. At some point, the information began to come from everywhere herself - from friends, acquaintances, from the Internet. This is how you constantly hear the mention of some places and a description, as is good - and then RRUZRA, and go there. Or you see some attractive picture, and you think - why not?

And, of course, much depends on the budget, work, air tickets. So, for example, we spent a couple of days in Kuala Lumpur, although it was originally not planned to fly there. However, such tickets turned up that it was more convenient and cheaper.

IN: Usually Tanya is engaged in this, she loves to read forums and travel blogs, inspired by them. Of us two, it is more active in terms of displacements. I am more likely guided by an internal sensation and inspire travel stories for personal communication.

7. The most burning question is about money and travel on travel. How is it? What difficulties / capabilities give travel and remote work?

T.: With us, unfortunately, there are no savings, apartments for rent and other sources of income, so you earn themselves in the travel process.
This is not so stable, it imposes certain restrictions (we constantly need the Internet, the technique for work, and if this work is in place - then the place should be quite popular and tourist, plus constantly in touch), it slightly reduces the effectiveness of the shed radio (we In one place, then in the other, and customers also come and leaving).

But! I take pictures, for example, much more pleasant standing on the knee in the ocean or climbing away in the jungle than in some Moscow studio.

If we speak in general about freelancing / working / private practice - it is nice to realize that it all depends on you. Your earnings, your schedule. No bosses, no obligations, no from 9 to 18.

I can not not note here, remembering myself 3-4 years ago: instead of "from 9 to 18" I had from 10 to 23, without holidays and weekends. On the photo it is the period :) But this is the question of the right toravement of your schedule, its borders and the ability to rest. At first, on Freilance everything is not easy, especially if it turns out quite suddenly that you are a latent workaholic, however, you can not adequately assess your work :) Therefore, at first I traveled very economically, and sometimes I had to ask for help from my parents.

But in general, working on yourself, doing a favorite thing - what could be better? :) Opportunities This approach gives a mass. For me, this question has long been resolved, and my freedom for me is much more important than stability, guarantees and social packages. Every year everything gets better, I develop my skills and skills, and still ahead :)
As for the crisis, we organized our income so that now the ruble number is practically not worried. We earn mainly in local currency and dollars, and the ruble rate is not attached.

In general, the problem of the presence / absence of money, in my opinion, is much more related to internal installations that limit the beliefs, following its or not to their path and some karmic moments than with the external situation, the specialty demand, the crisis, etc. Therefore, work on yourself, its installations and beliefs - our everything :)

IN: This question was the most difficult for a long time. Freelance special income did not bring, one season I worked as a web designer at a distance with a medium Moscow salary. There was enough money, but there was no time nor satisfaction. Now we have found our ways, everything gets better and better. And there is enough money, and work like it. Although the word "work" here is not very suitable, rather a matter. Describe in detail what I do, I do not want, just say that I found my way. He has everyone, other people's recipes will not help here, but only confuse. So, at one time I did not do my own business and could not understand for a long time, why should I really want to develop, why does it bring so little money?

8. Another relevant question is about things, backpacks and their quantities. Your experience, novice tips.

T.: Usually we travel with small (liters of 50) backpacks, plus small (but heavy!) Backpacks with appliances. By the end of our semi-annual trip, we are overweight, and another backpack or bag is formed, plus rugs for yoga. Not very convenient, of course.

In our current journey, we finally surrendered and bought suitcases on the wheels :) While the experience of their use is small, but I can already say that they have certain advantages. Especially valuable when you go somewhere in the heat and you are looking for a housing - the shoulders are not falling off, things obediently go after you, beauty :)
Council of beginners one and he is extremely banal: do not take extra!

IN: In the journey the fewer things - the better. But there are nuances =) the number of things is proportional to the number of hobbies. The deeper I immerse yourself in music, the more tools and devices I think. I recently had to move from Goa to Thailand with 37 kg of baggage =)
At the same time, personal belongings and clothing are always minimum. Clothing in Asia is cheap, pharmacies, too, as a rule, everywhere, household cosmetics can also be bought in place. As a rule, half of things that you take with you, you will not need.

9. What is the strangest or atypical to do on traveling?

T.: It is already difficult to say that for me it is not atypically :) Travel teach flexibility, adapt to any situations. Before the start of all the travels for me, it was probably an atypical 90% of what I am doing now every day. Sit on the scooter and go beyond the breakfast fruit, dangle the whole day on cases of several Goan villages, shoot shoes when entering the store or temple, go to celebrate the sunset to the sea, meet and make friends with a lot of interesting people from different countries And cities, communicate in English - all this would seem so strange before, but so firmly included in everyday life.

From particularly unexpected - to spend the day bypassing Mount Govardhan in Vrndavan under Vedic lectures and having mantras; Ride on a scooter, seoaking from the buckets of cold water and shooting a water gun; Being taken for Iranian spies in some small Indian town and have breakfast in the company of Puzate Polisman there.

And a little more than a month ago, we were absolutely not typical for us, and I alone spent a month on Bali, and Vanya lived a couple of weeks in Goa, and then moved to Thailand. Such experience was very interesting and productive for us.

10. The most vivid impression for all the time of the wanderings?

T.: It is difficult to allocate something one. In addition, the emotional significance of impressions is very subjective. I can forget completely about some kind of seen landmark, but remember, for example, one sunset, which we saw in our bike tripe along the way in Goa and which for some reason caused a lot of emotions in me.

Of course, bright mischiefs leave natural beauties - Himalayas, the sky and the nature of Bali, the beaches on the islands in Thailand, an incredible canyon in Jordan. And such unique cities like Varanasi.
And many more vivid impressions were obtained in the process of communicating with people with whom you get involved in traveling. And this is also not obvious at first the side of the travel.

11. Why return to Goa? To India?

T.: Here our house :) We found a place in which it is always pleasant to return. This village is arabol in Goa - the concentration of energies of creativity and knowledge. Here warm, sea, fruits, interesting creative people, various seminars and courses, practices, concerts. Like the atmosphere, there are all the conditions for life and self-development, self-realization. This is a development catalyst.
And India as a whole, the most attracts us most. There is a soul.

IN: For me in India, in Goa, in the arabol, the fastest development takes place, here is the largest concentration of inspiring, interesting and creative people. Well, just the heart calls to come back every time.

12. A little about India on a motorcycle. How did you decide on a motor-journey? What difficulties were with buying and operation? What underwater stones can expect those who want to ride in India to their own way?

IN: Having traveled a couple of seasons in Goa on rented bikes and going to Gokarnu, we realized that it was cool and could be riding in India's expanses. The next season they planned the purchase of a bike in Delhi, trip over the cities around Delhi and then moving to Goa with their own way.

The first time everything was chic and perfect, there were no problems with the bike at all. Only once after a few hours, shaking over the rubble, that according to the map it was supposed to be dear, we broke one shock absorber. But 30 horses who do not understand English and 50 rupees decided the problem. That's all, I never even checked the oil.

The second time it was more interesting. We arrived again in Delhi, went to the same seller who took the bike, took from him first Enfield.

They loaded with his things and by themselves, already drove away from Delhi by 100 km, as suddenly it began to rhythmically wind from side to the side with an increasing amplitude at a speed of 70 km / h. We postponed a ton of bricks, but I kept the bike, neatly slowed down, we exhaled, moved away from stress and decided to return.

By evening, I got back, brought the bike to the seller, asked: "What are things?". He answered, they say, I don't know anything, you overloaded it. Yeah, overloaded. Enfield. We are in the amount of weighing 110 kg, luggage another 30-40 kg, like in the mountains with things on it nobody goes? But no, if you gave money in India, it is very unlikely that you will be returned. Therefore, I had to pay extra and take Evenger, the same as last time .. But once at times it does not have to.

At first it turned out that he had a crack in the crankcase. It turned out when it left all the oil and engine tightly. It was fun to carry a bike in the body of the cargo rickshaw, in which he barely be placed to the nearest service. And there is a replacement of the piston and cylinder and more details on the little things. In general, we revenge it in every city in which they stayed. But it is worth noting that every time he broke exactly at that moment and in the place where we could quickly help.

T.: So you need to keep in mind that there may be anything, and be ready to stay in the way or spend some extra thousand rubles for repairs. But now I even understand the insides of the bike and know where to watch and what to check what I have already helped when renting a scooter :)

13. What myths about India did you debunk in the process of exploring the country?

T.: I did not have any special ideas about India, therefore, to say that something worked directly, I probably could not. I heard that in India dirty, a lot of poor people, acute food, but at the same time there is good, there are many opportunities for spiritual development and beautiful nature - everything is there.

As for Goa, there are many myths. For example, that this is an expensive resort or the opposite is a very cheap hippie. What is a purely party place where there is nothing more to do, except to go to the party and lie on the beach - and that here yoga is sitting on our heads, and the chakras will be cleared with half a turn :)

All this has a place to be, but the life of a multifaceted, and in Goa simultaneously coexist the layers of reality, which sometimes do not intersect with each other.

If you came to relax, stupid and swim, then you will not understand how in Goa you can work from morning to evening or learn something, develop, self-realized. And vice versa.
And if you used to eat in expensive restaurants, then you will not mind that you can eat quite tightly and delicious to eat 30 rupees or even for free :)

Everyone sees some kind of side, hence such contradictory ideas about Goa.

14. Traditional advice and wishes beginners and inflatable: where to start, what to prepare. Maybe there are some secrets for buying tickets / visas / housing, which are you ready to reveal?

T.: Prepare you need to travel - it is not only beautiful views, new places, vivid impressions. This is also a deep work on yourself, which is not obvious at the beginning. Here you go out of the comfort zone, and you have to decide every day a bunch of housing issues, transport, household items.

You learn to be flexible, do not get tied to food, rituals, habits. You have a minimum of things, minimum comfort. If you still work in the journey, then you learn to work in any conditions, adjusting to the presence / absence of the Internet, electricity, sockets, tables, etc. In this regard, it's easier if you longer live in some one place, then the level of comfort increases sharply.

For the purchase of tickets, registration of visas and search for housing, we have no special secrets, and here it is difficult to give a universal council. The only advice can be read thematic forums, blogs, groups in social networks. Find out how things are concluded in every particular country or city, and look for fresh information, because everything quickly changes.
And of course, you need to be open and trust the world. Everything will turn out)

For my journalistic career I took over 3000 interviews from the most different people: from Alla Pugacheva and Roman Viktyuk to Ivan Urgant and Keanu Rivza. And as part of our heading "Talk business" I take an interview with the best businessmen of Russia.

1. Take enough time to prepare

It seems to many that with questions on the interview can be sorted out along the way. However, this is not the case. If not to prepare for the interview, then, most likely, it will be failing. I usually spend the preparation of about 4 hours. The first three hours study the materials, and the next hour I prepare questions.

So preparation should be solid. In addition to learning professional activity Interviewable, be sure to review the following materials:

Biography and official website, if any.

The latest news from the life of the interviewed. It is very important because something very serious may happen in his life, for example, the death of a spouse. If you do not know about it, although they wrote a lot about it where, then the question "How are your husband?" It can become the most awkward in your life.

Interviews that he gave recently. It is necessary to understand what it was most often asked about, and not asked such questions.

Video of his speeches.

Evgeny Demin and I am during an interview

2. Interview is not a conversation

The second rule is brief: remember that the interview is not a conversation. In a conversation, both people are equal, and in an interview - you ask, and your interlocutor answers.

3. Put the purpose of the interview

In the "Alice in Wonderland" there was a very interesting dialogue between Alice and Cheshire Cat. Alice asked Cheshire Cat:

Where should I go from here?

And where do you want to get?

I don't care ... I just go somewhere.

Then still, where and go. Somewhere you will definitely come.

With an interview the same. Without a goal, you can come somewhere, but it is not clear where.

What is the purpose of your interview? Tell your readers about this person, his history of life? To find out the secrets of his success in professional activities? Learn more about his new project?

The interview should have a goal, otherwise nothing will work.

We now turn to the rules for compiling issues.

4. Start with heating

Interview is also acquaintance. Do not immediately ask very deep or provocative questions. It is better to approach it gradually.

Start with warming questions. In a different way, this technique is called "Ice Breaking", which means "melt ice", and is used, for example, in negotiations.

Your task is to talk a person and discharge a tense atmosphere. For example, you can ask: "What did you do before our conversation?" Or "What are you planning to do after?". You can start with a compliment. Suppose: "I look, you have such interesting paintings in the office. Choose themselves? "

That is, at first it is necessary to set 1-2 sufficiently easy question that will not make a lot of thinking.

During an interview with one of the best owners of Russia, Andrei Krivenko

5. Down with banal questions

The list of the most boring questions looks like this:

Tell us about yourself or your business. Such a question can be asked to a person who is not known for anyone and only begins his career, but not a well-known person. Just imagine that you will start an interview with Donald Trump from the question "Tell me about yourself."

How your company / your book / your project appeared. Imagine you take an interview at the founder of IKEA Ingvara Kamparad. The companies have been more than 70 years old and you ask him the question: "How did your company appear?".

Most likely, your question will remain unanswered. Can you imagine how many times did he hear this question? Millions. Here it is necessary to reformulate the question so that it sound interesting. Suppose: "Invar, what to feel that you created a company that survived the Soviet Union?".

What are your plans? Another question that is not very loved. Of course, the topic is interesting, but the question is boring. It is possible to reformulate it like this: "What are the goals from you in the near future, are you most inspired?" Or so: "What victories will we still wait for you in the coming year?".

I advise not to ask too hard questions and too blurry.

For example, "What is the meaning of life?". It is better to set a simpler question that characterizes a person: "What is the most important thing for you in life?".

Or here's another strange question "What are you dreaming about?". In my journalistic experience, this is a question that introduces almost any person to a dead end.

7. Interviews should be integrity

Previously, I very often made such a mistake: I made a chaotic list of witty questions when I was preparing for an interview. In this case, the interview was operating, but aimless. Each interview should be their own dramaturgy and its integrity. First, you introduce readers with an interviewee, then begin to ask questions related to the purpose of interview.

Remember: 70% of the questions should be drawn up to achieve the purpose of the interview.

8. Ask questions to which you wonder to hear answers

When I prepare questions, I always emerge from what questions are interesting to me.

Of course, questions should be not very narrow. For example, I do not ask what color you have a towel in the kitchen, even if I really want.

Once my teacher said an excellent thing: "The right question is a question, the answer to which you will give you something."

I propose to repel from the fact that we are doing smart interviews. And so when you are preparing questions, ask yourself: "How will my life change the answer to this question?".

9. Be sure to match the interview

After you interviewed, you must definitely send it to the approval of the interviewee and warn when it is published. Do not forget to align not only the text, but also the photos that you will use.

By the way, my favorite interview.

10. Arrange Blitz poll

This is not that the rule, just addition to the interview, which I myself often use. I spend at the end of the interview blitz poll. It is usually 5 questions in the style " Best Book For a businessman? "," What are you ready to spend the latest money? " etc.

You can come up with your questions for a blitz. The main thing is that it was interesting and useful.

That's all. I wish you good and interesting interviews!
